Aug 15 Klosters

The Swiss are well known for their bridge and tunnel engineering. The Sunniberg bridge leads into the Gotschna tunnel that by-passes Klosters. I borrowed this image from the internet. It is the view from the alternate route that goes into the village.

The World Cup Nordic (cross country) ski
competition will be held in 2017
in the valley visible in the distance.

Most signs are only written in the local language
(most often German for the areas we are in).
But when they are in multi-languages and
include English, we use them to help enhance
our German vocabulary.
This sign was by a gate to a Klosters church cemetery.

Fondue offered at one of the hotels
It reads
"Cheese Fondue
Daily - at our terrace Stubli with open fire
and friendly atmosphere
(in summer from our panorama terrace)
22.50 CHF per person"

Switzerland today is no longer the land of
lederhosen and dirndels that it used  to be.
It is much more industrialized (lumbering and
manufacturing and construction).
In any villge you might find a contrast between
the old and the new.
